Van Dermyden Makus Law Corporation (VM Law), one of the nation’s top workplace investigations law firms, is expanding its West Coast operations to include three industry leaders across VM Law’s legal, marketing and professional services.

The Firm is proud to welcome Yvette Lemus, Joe Parisi and Julia Renner — each strengthening the Firm’s proven ability to deliver excellence in investigations and trainings.

“At VM Law, we strive to hire professionals who demonstrate the skills and experience to meet our high standards and are aligned with our values and mission,” said Firm Managing Partner Eli Makus. “In welcoming Yvette, Joe and Julia, we expand our roster of those who embrace our values, which include teamwork, diversity and excellence among others. We are thrilled to add three top professionals who will further our goal to provide excellence in neutral investigations, adjudication services and investigation trainings.”

Yvette Lemus, an experienced professional administrator, joins the VM Law team as Intake Coordinator. In this role, she supports the intake and onboarding of new clients and works closely with VM Law’s attorney investigators to streamline client experiences.

In her past coordinator role with a real estate and home loan company, Yvette ensured client needs were heard and met, while helping her clients achieve their dreams of home ownership. An avid traveler who immerses herself in new cultures, Yvette earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology and Chicano studies from the University of California, Davis.

Joe Parisi, joining the Firm as an Attorney Investigator, has more than two decades of experience conducting and supervising complex civil, criminal and business investigations for law firms in various high-stakes and high-profile litigation matters. Through this vast experience interviewing innumerable clients, parties and witnesses from all backgrounds and experiences, Joe has developed a keen sense of empathy and understanding that he brings to each Title IX and workplace investigation he conducts with VM Law.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from The University of California, Berkeley and law degree from The University of California College of Law San Francisco. He is a mentor at Project Avary, a nonprofit supporting children with incarcerated parents, speaks and participates in educational and professional events and is active with his kids’ schools and teams.

Julia Renner brings her vast expertise in training and development to her role as Program Director for the Firm’s VM Mastered and T9 Mastered training programs. As Program Director for VM Law’s innovative training services, she manages program development, administration, marketing and strategic business planning for the Firm’s investigation trainings.

Prior to joining VM Law, Julia served as Director of Professional Development for a high-end association management company. She holds a master’s degree in teaching from Marian University and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the College of St. Benedict.
