Seltzer Caplan McMahon Vitek Elects Three New Shareholders

San Diego-based law firm Seltzer Caplan McMahon Vitek announced today that Patrick Haase, Scott Perlin and Sarah Shekhter were elected shareholders of the firm. 

Haase joined the firm’s Estate Planning & Administration Department as an associate in 2019. His practice focuses on estate planning, trust and probate law. He is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization as well as a Certified Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation. He received his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech. 

Perlin began his legal career as a summer associate at SCMV in 2015. A member of the firm’s Litigation Department, Perlin represents clients in real estate development and real property disputes, as well as business, construction and general civil litigation. He received his law degree from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, where he was selected to the Hale Moot Court Honors Program, and his bachelor’s degree from Willamette University.  

Shekhter joined the firm’s Litigation Department as an associate in 2019. Her practice primarily focuses on complex business matters. She is a Certified Specialist in Criminal Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization and has extensive experience representing clients in complex civil and criminal matters in both state and federal courts. Shekhter is a member of San Diego Chapter of the Women’s White Collar Defense Association, Lawyers Club of San Diego, Association of Business Trial Lawyers and the Louis M. Welsh San Diego Chapter of the American Inns of Court. Additionally, she is a volunteer coach for the San Diego High School Mock Trial Competition and a Volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate with Voices for Children. She also serves on the board of directors for the Kindness Initiative. Shekhter received her law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and her bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University.
