SCMV Welcomes Litigator Ora Lupear and Tax Attorney Austin Peterson

Seltzer Caplan McMahon Vitek (SCMV) is pleased to announce the addition of two attorneys to the firm: Ora Lupear and Austin Peterson. Each brings extensive experience and focused backgrounds to enhance the firm’s Litigation and Transactional Tax Planning & Controversy practices.

Lupear, a seasoned litigator and trial lawyer, joins SCMV’s Litigation Department. With a distinguished track record representing both institutional and individual shareholders in complex business disputes, Lupear has experience with securities class actions, mergers and acquisitions and shareholder derivative actions. Prior to joining SCMV, Lupear practiced at Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP, where he helped achieve significant recoveries for investors through high-profile litigation, including in Stewart N. Goldstein, M.D. v. Alexander J. Denner, et al., (“Bioverativ”), and was a key member of the litigation and trial teams in In re Oracle Corporation Derivative Litigation and In re Tesla Motors, Inc. Stockholder Litigation. He holds a law degree from Brooklyn Law School.

Peterson, a former senior associate at PWC, joins SCMV’s Transactional Tax Planning & Tax Controversy Department. Peterson helps clients navigate complex tax issues and minimize risks associated with financial decisions. His background includes extensive experience in state and local tax due diligence, particularly in the context of mergers and acquisitions. Peterson helps clients with tax planning, compliance and controversy. He earned his law degree from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law with a specialization in Business Law & Policy.
