PBO Advisory Group Announces Leadership Changes

PBO Advisory Group LLC, a leading advisory and outsourcing firm, has announced that Francesca San Diego is the firm’s new CEO. Founder Mike Ford, the former managing director of the firm, has transitioned to the role of president and founder. Jennifer Rebis, CPA will assume the role of chief financial officer, previously held by San Diego.

San Diego joined PBO Advisory in 2015 as a fractional CFO consultant, working with firm clients. In 2020, she became a minority equity partner and most recently, served as the firm’s chief financial officer. In her role as CEO, San Diego will focus on the delivery of services and operations of the firm, in support of PBO Advisory’s key strategic relationships and growing services.

Ford founded PBO Advisory in 2011, under the name of Pro Back Office LLC. As president and founder, he will focus on expanding the firm geographically through strategic partnerships with other service providers, as well as oversee business development and marketing strategies and activities.

“Advisory and outsourcing services are growing as more companies discover the benefits and advantages and we believe that this trend will only continue,” says San Diego. “In the past few years, PBO Advisory has seen significant growth by expanding our services to meet the short- and long-term needs of our clients.”

PBO Advisory, based in San Diego, California, plans to also expand its geographic footprint, focusing initially on the western region of the U.S. The firm also plans to expand its client base to include more middle-market companies. Currently, PBO Advisory has nearly 60 employees in 12 states throughout the U.S.

“Fran is the perfect leader to take us into the future,” said Ford. “Her finance and business savvy, combined with her people skills and commitment to our employees and clients, will successfully guide PBO Advisory into its next chapter and beyond.”

A graduate of Vanderbilt University, San Diego has an extensive background in corporate finance, business operations and business development. In addition to founding and growing her own consulting practice before joining PBO Advisory, she has worked in the investment, hospitality, gaming and entertainment industries.

With more than 20 years of progressive accounting experience, Rebis started her career as an auditor for an accounting firm and held in-house management positions at multiple organizations, as well as working as a senior finance consultant for many of PBO Advisory’s clients.

Based in San Diego, CA and originally founded as an outsourced accounting and finance-focused service provider, in recent years PBO Advisory has added human resources, human capital, and business advisory and consulting to its service lines. The firm has won multiple awards for its employee-friendly workplace policies and has been one of the fastest growing businesses in San Diego over the past few years.
