5 Tips to be Comfortable and Confident on Camera

With the introduction of our new Live in 5! remote video services, we are sharing a few tips for looking great on camera. The more cool, calm and collected you are, the better quality your video will be. We want you to look and feel your best on camera and when in doubt, practice makes perfect. Here are TW2’s top five tips to be more comfortable and confident on camera.

1. Practice Your Talking Points

Whether you have a script, an outline or just a general idea of what you want to talk about, make sure to practice ahead of time. It can be helpful to use a mirror, the camera on your phone or a friend.

2. Smile

Smiles radiate confidence. A warm, natural smile will help you appear genuine and sincere, while also tricking your body into being more relaxed and at ease. It’s a win-win.

3. Dress to Impress

Choose an outfit that looks well put together and that you feel comfortable in. Avoid busy patterns and easily wrinkled fabric.

4. Pay Attention to Your Body Language

Make sure to sit or stand up straight, while also keeping your shoulders relaxed. Try to avoid crossing your arms and bouncing your legs.

5. Speak slowly and clearly

Most people tend to speak too fast when they get nervous. Take to time to enunciate your words and take a breath between each sentence.
