Hone Maxwell LLP, a leading San Diego-based international tax and business law firm, is proud to announce the addition of two new tax attorneys and the promotion of two seasoned professionals. The additions of Leslie Miranda and Kamile Schroyer, along with the promotions of Claudia Ignacio and Marisol Swadener strengthens the firm’s commitment to providing top-tier tax and corporate law services to clients in California and abroad.
“We are thrilled to welcome Leslie and Kamile to Hone Maxwell,” said Managing Partner Josh Maxwell. “Their unique, international backgrounds and tax law experiences will undoubtedly bring immense value to our clients and further solidify our reputation as a leading international tax law firm.”
Leslie Miranda joins HMLLP as an associate, bringing with her a wealth of experience in tax controversy and international tax planning. A Venezuelan native, Miranda’s proficiency in both Spanish and English has been instrumental in assisting individuals and businesses in navigating complex U.S. tax laws, especially as they pertain to international entities. Miranda’s diverse background and legal experience spans over two decades and three continents.
Kamile Schroyer also joins the Hone Maxwell team as an associate. With law licenses in both California and Brazil, Schroyer’s cross-cultural background forms the foundation of her international corporate, asset planning and tax law practice. From assisting foreign entities with U.S. investments to providing counsel on company formation and governance, Schroyer’s multifaceted experience benefits a diverse clientele.
Meanwhile, Claudia Ignacio and Marisol Swadener were promoted to senior associates.
“I’d like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Claudia and Marisol,” Maxwell said. “Their unwavering commitment and contributions to the firm have been instrumental in our continued success and growth. We look forward to their continued leadership and authoritative, client-first approach to tax law.”
Ignacio’s practice encompasses a broad spectrum of international tax planning, compliance and controversy matters, as well as international tax consulting on everything from U.S. investments to the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FACTA) compliance. With over 20 years of tax compliance experience, bilingual capabilities and a deep commitment to community service, her dedication to providing knowledgeable tax counsel is evident. She serves on the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association and received the President’s Award from the organization in 2022. Her work in the community earned her the San Diego County Bar Association’s Service by a New Lawyer Award that same year.
Swadener defends individuals and small businesses in audits with the IRS and various state taxing authorities and collections issues, as well as tax planning, compliance and controversy. With a strong foundation in tax law and a passion for client communication, Swadener’s promotion is a testament to her dedication and success in the field. Swadener is also active in organizations that include the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association, which recognized her with the President’s Award in 2020.
